Assistances varied between goodwill loan, monthly and occasional aids
Zakat House Director of Social Service Fatima Ayed Al-Rashidi said that the total amount of goodwill loans and assistance provided by Zakat House during the period from the beginning of January to the end of April of this year amounted to (8.321.210 KD) only eight million, three hundred twenty-two thousand, two hundred ten Kuwaiti dinars _ and the total number of families is 21761, explaining that this aid is divided into monthly assistance, occasional aid in addition to the goodwill loan. Al-Rashidi pointed out that the monthly assistance during this period amounted to 1.471.990 dinars _ only one million, four hundred seventy-one thousand, nine hundred ninety Kuwaiti Dinars, which helped 2093 families, while 19215 families benefited of occasional aid that amounted to 5.604.070 dinars, only five million, six hundred four thousand, seventy Kuwaiti dinars _, As for the goodwill loan, 453 families has benefited from it, and the value of loans provided to beneficiary families is 1,245,150 dinars - only one million and two hundred and forty-five thousand and one hundred and fifty Kuwaiti dinars only. Al-Rashidi noted that Zakat House pays great attention to assure the actual need of the applicant who seeks help by studying the financial situation of the applicant in terms of income, financial obligations, monthly installments to be paid and matching the conditions of aids and goodwill loans. Confirming that the request for assistance goes through several stages, first of all is to review the documents submitted and to do the research needed by the social researcher. Then, confirming the application of the conditions approved by aids and goodwill loan regulations. The application is then checked by the application audit department and finally the request is submitted to the decision-making committee. Accordingly, it is determined whether the applicant and his family need monthly or occasional aid, indicating that the occasional aid vary from one case to another, either every 3 months, 4 months, 6 months or every year depending on the case and the conditions applicable to it from the financial aid regulations. About the goodwill loan, Al-Rashidi explained that the maximum amount of the loan in Zakat House is 3000 KD, if the conditions apply for the case. The goodwill loan is granted to cases of treatment, construction and restoration, payment of debt by a judicial verdict, university students in the graduation year, in addition to those affected financially from accidents such as fire ,theft and car accidents. Indicating that the loan installments can be registered on the name of a family member who meet the requirements of the goodwill loan regulations. And about the repayment of the loan, director of social service in Zakat House Fatima Al-Rashidi reported that the value of the loan is repaid by monthly payments that do not exceed 30 installments and the first installment is due after two months from the date of receiving the goodwill loan. At the end of her statement, Al-Rashidi announced that Zakat House represented by the Department of Social Service is keen to develop and simplify the procedures for the clients to submit applications for assistance or goodwill loans that an automated system for submitting applications for assistance has been launched online at www.zakathouse.org on 1/3/2017 so that the clients can access the website and perform all the application procedures.
